By Learning how to create your own energy source will not only benefit you now but also far into the future.
Imagine being given the ability to build your own solar panel in your very own backyard.
One of the main advantages to using these panels is that you will be able to successfully produce power for your home
And this method much easier and much less expensive.
At the First time you need to find yourself a small solar panel that is 12 volts or higher. A 16 volt solar panel will suit your needs the best.
You need a rechargeable battery to “save” the energy. A smaller one is your best bet.
You need a DC meter to matches the voltage of your battery and a DC input
It is now time to actually put the labor into your solar panel
Now you are ready to start converting the sun’s power into your own usable energy

One year ago, Solartron Energy Systems Inc. introduced the world to the first commercial available solar concentrator.

The new 15ft (4.5m) diameter SolarBeam is capable of providing 13kW (44,000 btu’s) of thermal heat per hour. Unlike solar flat plate panels or evacuated tubes that lose efficiency with higher operating temperatures, the SolarBeam maintains a continuous 82% efficiency.

Solartron Energy has a market reach as far as Western Africa to Australia in addition to our North American market.

You will see an example of the SolarBeam providing heat for 3X 120 gallon tanks and a 1000 gallon tank for a national bottling plant.

Cheap Solar Heat

Posted by admin under solar heat

Last winter my boys and I made a very cheap solar heater with a large south facing window in our second story computer/ homeschool room. We just hung a black plastic sheet on the inside of the window with curtain rods. This left about 1.5″ for natural convection to take place. It draws the cooler air near the floor and the heat just flows out the top. This room would always get warm with the sun shining in, but with just this black sheet I was able to turn off my heater (forced air) and just leave the fan on to circulate this heat throughout the house. I also used a portable fan to move heat out of that room so we could stand working in there on our computers. On sunny days with below freezing temperatures outside , I could shut off our heater from 11:00 am to about 6:00 pm and stay perfectly warm and comfortable inside the house.

Solar Power Gadgets

Posted by admin under solar power

http://go.tagjag.com/solio – http://twitter.com/chrispirillo – Aside from communicating with the opposite sex, what is a Geek’s greatest fear? I’d have to say it would be the fear of losing power! We are always worried about our batteries dying just when we need them most! Due to this, I spent a bit of my own money to buy a Solio Universal Solar Hybrid Charger. That’s right… it can charge from the Sun!! It also has a proprietary cable (ARGH!) that you can use, as well, in case you happen to live where the Sun never shines. http://chris.pirillo.com

This is video #2 of the final test day for Dave’s Do It Yourself Boutique solar heat Exchanger with a Inline 4″ inlet fan.

Our Final Results For A 2 hour test:

4″ inline inlet fan
Outside air temp 45F
Clear skies with full sun
Output temperature at 4′ from the top averaged 85 – 93F
Internal temp above the heat exchanger chamber averaged 125 – 132F.
Suncourt DB204 Duct Booster 4 DI $25-30 Home Depot or Amazon.

Conclusion: The Boutique Heat Exchanger Design does very nicely maintain acceptable output temperatures when with an airflow of 60-80 CFM.

Note After Tests: The outlet pipe of approximately 4-5′ was not insulated. If insulated, the outlet temp most likely would have been 110-115F, not 80-95F.
